aracens have confirmed that Andy Farrell left his post as head coach on Thursday evening. <span class="lingo_region"></span><br />
Farrell had turned down an approach to join the England coaching staff back in April to commit to <a class=" lingo_link" href="http://topics.skysports.com/saracens/?section=rugby_union" rel="nofollow" style="cursor: pointer; display: inline; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14.06px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;" title="Mouse over ^ icon to search.">Saracens.</a><img class="lingo_icon lingo_icon_black" id="lingo_icon" src="http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif" style="background-color: transparent; background-repeat: no-repeat; border: 0pt currentColor; cursor: pointer; display: inline; float: none; height: 12px; left: auto; line-height: normal; margin: 0pt !important; padding: 0pt; position: static; text-decoration: none; top: auto; vertical-align: top; visibility: visible; width: 12px;" /><br />
However, the former dual-code international has now gone back on that decision and opted to leave the club.<br />
Farrell initially joined England on secondment during the RBS Six Nations - and made a big impression working alongside head coach <a class=" lingo_link" href="http://topics.skysports.com/Stuart+Lancaster/?section=rugby_union" rel="nofollow" style="cursor: pointer; display: inline; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14.06px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;" title="Mouse over ^ icon to search.">Stuart Lancaster</a><img class="lingo_icon lingo_icon_black" id="lingo_icon" src="http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif" style="background-color: transparent; background-repeat: no-repeat; border: 0pt currentColor; cursor: pointer; display: inline; float: none; height: 12px; left: auto; line-height: normal; margin: 0pt !important; padding: 0pt; position: static; text-decoration: none; top: auto; vertical-align: top; visibility: visible; width: 12px;" /> and assistant Graham Rowntree.<br />
Farrell, though, had stated at the time that he was staying with Saracens, commenting, "as a club, we have barely scratched the surface of our potential. The job isn't anywhere near half done, and I have decided I want to help finish the job".<br />
Saracens confirmed his departure on Friday and announced that <a class=" lingo_link" href="http://topics.skysports.com/Kevin+Sorrell/?section=rugby_union" rel="nofollow" style="cursor: pointer; display: inline; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14.06px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;" title="Mouse over ^ icon to search.">Kevin Sorrell,</a><img class="lingo_icon lingo_icon_black" id="lingo_icon" src="http://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif" style="background-color: transparent; background-repeat: no-repeat; border: 0pt currentColor; cursor: pointer; display: inline; float: none; height: 12px; left: auto; line-height: normal; margin: 0pt !important; padding: 0pt; position: static; text-decoration: none; top: auto; vertical-align: top; visibility: visible; width: 12px;" /> who had been part of the backroom staff at Saracens, is to step up and become the club's new backs coach.<br />
"Kevin is making a swift and successful transition from outstanding player to outstanding coach. He is Saracens through and through, and we are delighted he has agreed to take up this important post," director of rugby Mark McCall told the club's official website.<br />
Of Farrell's exit, chairman Nigel Wray said: "We are sorry to see Andy leave, and we wish him well in the future."<br />
It would now appear that Farrell is free to take up a post as part of Lancaster's England coaching staff.</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07204122112339850490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5825535508902117987.post-44170713567214915352012-05-31T11:23:00.001-07:002012-05-31T11:23:09.027-07:00Flood hungry for England shirt<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

The Munster lock, who captained Ireland in this season's RBS 6 Nations Championship while Brian O'Driscoll recovered from shoulder surgery, misses out due to a knee injury.<br />
<a class=" lingo_link" href="http://topics.skysports.com/Paul+O%27Connell/?section=rugby_union" rel="nofollow" style="cursor: pointer; display: inline; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14.06px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;" title="Mouse over ^ icon to search.">O'Connell</a> had been undergoing rehabilitation in London this week in the hope that he could a join his team-mates who flew to Auckland.<br />
But the Irish Rugby Football Union said he had "failed to progress to the level required to allow him to take an active part in the tour".<br />
Connacht's Mike McCarthy had already been added to the squad as cover while O'Connell continued his recovery programme.<br />
O'Connell is the third player to miss out on facing the All Blacks due to injury, following Ulster flanker Stephen Ferris and Leinster scrum-half Isaac Boss.<br />
Ireland will tackle the All Blacks in Auckland on June 9, followed by further Test matches in Christchurch and Hamilton on June 16 and 23.</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07204122112339850490noreply@blogger.com0
